I am designing and about to purchase my avionics , i am a bit confused on the SV Com.

is the SV-25 control head not needed?

i want two comms radios and was planning on two SV-25 control heads on the panel…. But browsing some other configurations i do not see two control heads?

i do understand the remote transceiver is attached to the sub panel , but before i cut the panel i want to be sure the control head x 2 is needed.

thanks

The short answer, one head per radio.

Typical IFR installations use a TSO GPS NAV/Comm as Comm #1, and the Dynon radio as Comm #2.

Depends on the screen. Only the selected com radio will be shown on the status bar at the top of the main display, but you can select any com radio you want, and the radio page displays whatever Dynon radios you have installed. You don't need the separate control head, but if you decide you want it, you'll need one for each Dynon radio. I'm planning two radios, but I'll just control them via the HDX as I have limited panel spce.

I'm going to back away from that last comment. Dynon is now saying you need the control head for the second radio.
