After performing the 14.1.1 update to my Skyview, I was updating the transponder and accidentally shut off power to the avionics bus that powers the SV-XPNDR-261.THe update progress bar froze at 24%. After 15 minutes I powered it off, but now when I turn on the power to the SV and the transponder, it is not detected and I have a "Transponder Fail" message on the SV. This is the message I used to get whenever I had the SV powered up (it comes on with my master switch) with the avionics bus off. I checked the serial port settings, all appears as it should be; however, the "TX" counter is incrementing continuously up, and the "RX" counter only increments by 1 when I turn power on to the transponder. Sentence errors are 0, good sentences are 0, and group errors increment up by one every 5 seconds or so. How do I "reset" the transponder and try the update again? In the meantime I have no transponder...

Damon,
Sorry to bear bad news, but you will need to return the transponder to us to be re-programmed. Unfortunately, the software in that device cannot recover from losing power in the middle of an update.

Give us a ring on Monday morning and we can get you an RMA set up.
