SV-AP-TrimAmp yeah or nay?

RV-8 with Ray Allen T3-12A roll and pitch trim servos wired to SV-AP-PANEL. Looks to me like the Trim Amp is optional. Anyone found it to be a real world "must-have", or no?

Ray Allen servos don't pull enough current to require the TirmAmp. Check the installation manual for current draw capability, and Ray Allen's manual for current draw.

Question: I already have the AP Panel with Auto-Trim enabled in an HDX system. Can someone tell me the additional features I would have if I install a TrimAmp unit in my system?

It's primary purpose is to drive legacy trim motors that require more than two amps. But it will also give alerts of abnormal trim conditions, such as runaway trim, inoperative trim or a failed test. Whether that's worth the money and effort is up to you.
