SV-ARINC-429 Output labels

'Evening Gents,

A relatively technical, but simple, question tonight...I am installing a KLN-90B and it requires the ARINC box. No problem there, and I am fairly confident I have the pinouts planned correctly, but that lead me to wonder what functionality is, or more appropriately, isn't available on the KLN-90B based on the information received from the SV-ARINC-429 module. The installation manual shows the EMS/Air Data messages SkyView outputs but not ARINC, or if it does, I missed it.

So, here is the question: Is there a listing of the various labels SkyView transmits over the TX-A and TX-B lines to external devices?

My Google-fu must need recalibrating. Do you reckon I could find that? ::)

Thanks!

Once you get it going, check to see that it sends the flight plan to SkyView. I just installed a Garmin 300XL (similar vintage) and was surprised that it did send over the flight plan. But, in SkyView, the only way I could get it to show the 300XL flight plan was to use the touch item on the map that shows which flight plan is displayed. Trying to select it from the menu didn't work. Not sure if this is a bug or something, but I was glad to see it showed up. Too bad you can't edit the flight plan and send it back these old GPS units have a pretty crappy UI!

G'day Geoff,

IIRC, it was around V13 when Dynon started displaying external GPS flight plans on SkyView. But because SkyView does not transmit label 306 or 307, means you can't update waypoints on the current flight plan from SkyView.

I've never used a 'proper' IFR GPS but in playing with the KLN-90B on the bench, find it quite easy to modify the active flightplan on the fly. (Pardon the terrible pun!).

It'll be a few weeks to a month till I install the KLN-90B, but will post an update here when I get it working. For around $500 AUD for a C129 GPS & $700 ARINC module I'm pretty happy.
