SV-COM C25 Modulation Question

My SV-COM seems to have a modulation issue that is problematic. When the other transmitter is really close, as in formation flying the transmitted audio starts loud very briefly, but then goes really low and distorted. This makes it impossible to receive fairly important transmissions while in formation flight.

Is there any way to adjust this?

At first glance, we'd be more suspicious of the other transmitter, but we'd probably start by doing some other tests to troubleshoot. Do other people hear his transmissions similarly? Does adding some distance change things, etc? Can you reproduce it on the ground with another source that's near your receiver?

It happens on the ground an in the air and with at least four other transmitters. 100 feet away it's not really a problem but 15 ft and it usually happens. I'll try with a handheld to see what happens.
