SV GPS 250 Problem?

I had an interesting experience today when I powered up for my return trip. When I turned on master switch and waited for the SV system to come online for engine start I got a big red X covering the Map portion and a message saying no GPS is available. I continued with the start and once the other avionics came online the map displayed correctly.
I flew to home airport without and issues but when I shut off avionics master the red X and message returned. It looks like my SV-GPS-250 failed to start and the Garmin GNS430W provided the SV system with the data it needs.
I have tried to replicate this by turning on my system several time but in all cases it immediately comes up and loads map utilizing the SV-GPS-250.
Does this make sense? I am trying to understand how the SV system works. Do I have a bad / failing SV-GPS-250?
I have a single SV-1000-T, dual ADHARS, ARINC, XPNDR, BATT.

If there are multiple sources of GPS available to SkyView, it will "fail down" in this order as described on Page 4-26 of the SkyView System Installation Guide:
POS 1 -> GPS 1 -> GPS 2 -> GPS 3 -> GPS 4 -> POS 2 -> POS 3 -> POS 4

So what is the status of the SV-GPS-250 now?

SETUP MENU > SYSTEM SETUP > SERIAL PORT SETUP > SERIAL PORT 5 SETUP.
Key things to look at are:
RX COUNTER
GOOD SENTENCES
and of course
SENTENCE ERRORS
GROUP ERRORS

You can also look at
SETUP MENU > LOCAL DISPLAY SETUP > GPS FIX STATUS
The first line will tell you what SkyView is using as its GPS input.

I have tried to turn it on several times now and in every case it detects the SV-GPS-250. I monitored the requested status page and noted the following:

RX COUNTER ~475000
GOOD SENTENCES ~8100

SENTENCE ERRORS 0 (zero)
GROUP ERRORS 0 (zero)

My SV-GPS-250 is located aft of the baggage bulkhead inside the fuselage. Installed in a Glasair.

Right now it is a one-time occurrence. I will continue to watch for this and if it happens again I will note the status from the setup page.

I should add in the above data the RX COUNTER and GOOD SENTENCES are incrementing.

Thanks,

Kurt
