I just made the unpleasant discovery that the harness I bought, which claims to handle radio audio input, doesn't actually provide the connections for a second COM. Pin 7 is unused. I can open up the connector and add pin 7 and the ground, but why didn't Dynon include the second Com? Am I missing something?

They don't include the second connector because not everyone has a second radio, and you don't want an unconnected audio line just hanging around inside the harness because it could induce noise.

Then they should point that out in the product description. As it is stated, it is ambiguous at best. The intercom supports two coms, and the product description simply says that fifteen foot leads are supplied for radio audio input, radio mic out, etc. No mention about only one com. It is reasonable to assume that the harness supports all features of the intercom unless otherwise stated.

You might note that radio audio input and radio mic out are singular. So, while they might be able to provide more specifics, they aren't misleading you. There are very good reasons why there would only be wiring for one. There are also custom wiring options with two radios that you wouldn't typically see with just one, and they can't possibly provide wiring for all possible options. So, it is not reasonable to expect them to add that. It's called homebuilding for a reason. Wiring pin 7 isn't actually the biggest difficulty you face here. Getting the heat shrink off is harder than adding the wire.
