My SV-intercom has worked well for 11 months, but today, part way through a 20 minute flight, the pilot microphone would no longer break the intercom squelch.
I could be heard by the passenger if I turned the squelch until the intercom hissed.
- The passenger could be heard with the normal squelch(ed) setting.
- Interchanging the headsets (both Clarity Aloft units, one year old) gave the same results.
- People on the ground said my radio transmissions came in clearly.
- I could hear other aircraft and the AWOS normally.
- I noticed the green power light is not lit if the intercom is squelched, but it turns green when the squelch is turned to allow hissing.
- The light turns orange when I transmit.
So, the anomalies are the pilot can not break the intercom squelch, and the power lit is not lit unless the squelch is set to "off" (hissing).
What's going on, and how do I fix it?
