Hi Guys

Just read the Newsletter and spotted the following:

" A SV-MAP-270 navigation mapping license is required to utilize the new base map data."

I already paid a ton of money to use the existing mapping, surely I don't have to pay more do I?

best regards as always

no sir! but you do need to own a license to use it. No different than in the past new users get a DEMO for 30 hours than they need a license to use the Dynon mapping features.
I recall there was lifetime updates on the license you and I bought.

The license goes with the respective display. As long as you run that display the license is good for any updates to the firmware.

Please confirm that is the case

As long as one of your SkyView displays in the aircraft has been licensed ever, the map and all future upgrades to it will continue to work. IE, $500, once per airplane, for the life of the airplane, for mapping/navigation features.

Any plans to be able to chose IFR charts insted of the existing map

I'll second that question...IFR en route, approach plates, airport diagrams and VFR charts...please!

Certain of your competition have this capability already...

What if the licensed display breaks and has to be replaced with a new one? What about the license in this case?

...but also, if for some reason we've given you a different display on a permanent basis (which we'll do in exceptional circumstances), we'll make sure that the new display gets licensed permanently.
