Dynonsupport,

Just throwing this out there for any suggestions or recommendations you may have for my situation.

I currently have a GTX-327 but I very very much want to get traffic of some sort either TIS-B or mode S. The flux over TIS-B hasnt helped either. One one hand, i would like to see what Dynon suggests for TIS-B when such recommendation comes out. I have definitely considered the SV-XPNDR, which would require replacing the GTX-327, or no?

Is there any chance of running a SV-XPNDR and -327 in parallel? IE, I get mode-S traffic with SV-XPNDR but still retain the control had of the -327? Just a crazy thought but thought I would ask to help me consider my options.

Thanks,
Jae

The Garmin GTX330 is a mode S transponder in a GTX327 package. Same functions as the SV-XPNDR but looks like the GTX327. Little heftier price though.

Yes, i considered the -330 as well. In retrospect, i wish i had just bit the bullet and gone with the -330 from the beginning. however, as an upgrade, it is actually a deeper unit and the wiring harness is different as well. It's all work but doable of course. ;) The 2x price is also a negative factor.

There isn't a way to blend those two, though, even if you could do that, you'd basically be using our transponder as a very expensive TIS (which is on its way out) receiver.

We do think that the right solution for most people will be the Dynon transponder for transponder and ADS-B out capability, and then a UAT ADS-B TIS-B/FIS-B receiver to get the ADS-B In side of things. We don't have the complete solution there yet, but we'll hopefully have more to share soon.
