SV700 Database for roads, river, towns

Hi,
I have a new SV700. I downloaded HI-res terrain database for europe and the european navdata/obstacle from jeppesen. This works fine but I cannot see any roads, towns and so on. What's wrong. ?

This is an old complaint from non US Fliers like you, me and many others. It is being addressed by Dynon who asked us all what we wanted to see on our mapping by questionnaire.

I know that they are working on it as they realised that the mapping was useless for navigation anywhere other than the USA who get all this for free from the FAA.

Maps and rivers and other "cultural data", as we call it, is not among the data that is part of the Jeppensen NavData, which covers only aviation features. Think of it as another layer of data that needs to be added to the map. Know that we DO plan on adding it, though.

Does the US FAA have "cultural data"? It doesn't appear in any of the screen shots I've seen.

A common misconception from other areas of the world is that we have roads and cities in the USA data. We don't yet. It doesn't come from the FAA as it's not an aviation database, just like it doesn't come from Jeppesen in the rest of the world.

We're looking at adding this to all regions of the world, but we need to find the right databases (ones that don't cost big bucks).
