Synthetic vision question

Dynon - I am planning dual Skyview screens, one for EFIS and one for engine data as general use. I know I can use either screen if one fails, and I can switch the functions back and forth between the two screens, but will I need to purchase the synthetic vision license for both screens if I'm only going to use it on one screen at any given time? Same question applies to the mapping software?

Just to confirm, I don't believe there is a license for synthetic vision. It comes with every Skyview and the data is free to download. It's different from the mapping license, it needs to be purchased.

There's technically a license for Synthetic Vision, and it is per screen, but the good news is that all of the prices you see include it. In other words, virtually every screen has it pre-installed. You can order it without if you truly want to, but, practically no one does.

Map is one license per system. You license one display, technically, and the map license is always tied to that screen. When two screens are connected, they share the license. If the underlying licensed display fails, the other one keeps on trucking for 30 hours, enough time to get where you're going and get your failed licensed display repaired.

Basically, you'll need to buy one map license, then, you're good to go!
