:)I have the left wire from ems connected to the alternator on a Jabiru 2200 engine. The tach. works fine up to 15-1600 rpm but then start jumping up and down from 1600 to 2500 rpm.
Would an resistor sort this problem? (if so, what size)

I've had great success with the 3300 engine using same resistor as for the Lycoming - despite being told you don't need them for the Jabby ::)

Try that or a lower value resistor - you won't 'hurt' it.

It's all to do with the 'dirty' current out of the alternator.
