Tachometer connections to Emag and EMS pins

I currently have 2 magnetos with R and L p leads connected to pin 32 and 33 on EMS plug for my classic Skyview.

I wish to install 2 Emags on my Lyc IO 360, but am unsure if I take the wires from Pin 6 on each emag and connect to pins 32 and 33, or can I continue to use the wires already attached the keyed ignition switch pleads to give me rpm.

Can anyone advise me . Neither Dynon nor Emagair have clear direction.

That is exactly how I have mine connected, pins 32 & 33 on the EMS plug. I also attached a ground from each Emag to both the engine case and to EMS ground. I used pin 30 in my installation for this. I found by doing this, and installing a 5v Zener diode between Emag pins 1 & 6, RPM's displayed on the SkyView were significantly more stable.

Additionally, I monitor the 12v being supplied to the Emags by running a wire from pin 5 of each Emag to SkyView EMS pins 20 & 21. This makes it easy to test the Emag internal generators (GREEN LMAGST / RMAGST indications) before every flight. Obviously the SkyView EMS has to be configured properly for all of this.

I have had it this way since 2013 (over 700hrs) and it works great for me. I attached images of what I am talking about.

I just attached the two dedicated tachometer outputs from the Emags to pins 32 and 33. Technically only one is required because the tack output on the Emags works wether the Emag is producing spark or not. Mine has worked fine for over 350 hours.

You are correct. But if that one tach output fails at the Emag, then you have no RPM indication on the SkyView. A bad thing if you are flying when it happens, especially if IFR. If you connect both, and one fails, SkyView will automatically switch to the other and you still have RPM indications.

Just something to consider.
