Three Way Switch

In the instructions for installing the D-10A, it refers to a "three way switch" to connect both the GPS and SL30 to pin 22. Could you expand a little on just what kind of switch this is.. Is it just a DPDT or something more exotic? How would you wire it with GPS "up", "OFF", SL30 "dn"???

You just need a SPDT switch. Hook the EFIS to the center of the switch, hook the serial from the SL-30 to one of the outside pins and the serial from the GPS to the other pin. You can leave the grounds connected all the time and just switch the serial line.

what output port of my gns 430 do i have use for this 3-way switch
and how will be the port be configured ?

There are 4 serial outputs on a 430. You can use any of them, just set the one you use up for Aviation format output.
