My Garmin 530W GPS has the correct Zulu time, my EMS-D120 is eleven minutes greater for both Zulu and local Australian time. Can anyone suggest a fix.
Thanks
Simon

The 430/530 does not send out time as part of it's GPS information. You need to set the time manually in this case.

May I ask what is label 125 of Arinc429? It seems to report Greenwich mead time in BCD (or called otherwise UTC time of the day).
Both 430 and 480 send this label.

Jacques.

There is a difference between serial and ARINC.

The original poster asked about a 530W hooked to a D120, which is only done via serial. There is no time in the serial string that the 530 puts out.

The aviation format that the 430, 530, 480, 300XL, and other panel mounted devices use does not have time in it. There's nothing we can do about this. Hooking up only via serial means we can't set the time.

If you have an HS34 on a D100, D10A, or D180, or an SV-ARINC-429 with a SkyView, then we can set the time via that ARINC connection.

Support,

Do you know if the Garmin GNS 480 sends out time?

DS & Skysailor --

This is from the 480 install manual, does it help ?

Arinc 429 label 125 = Time GMT (BCD)

Arinc 429 label 260G = Date (BCD)

As we said, we can get it from ARINC, but not from serial. the original question was a D120 over serial.

So SERIAL:

530 - No
430 - No
530W - No
430W - No
480 - No
Everything Else - No

ARINC:

530 - Yes
430 - Yes
530W - Yes
430W - Yes
480 - Yes
Everything Else - Probably
