I recently made my first xtry last weekend from Indy to Texas. I noticed that once I got about about 5000 I heard the "Traffic not Available" from the SV. Upon decent the traffic was back online. Why does that happen? I have the SV and SV transonder... currently do not have the new ADS-b...yet.

That means that you left a TIS coverage area (since that's your only available traffic source), and then picked it up again. Remember that the legacy "TIS" system is only at major airports, so coverage isn't nearly as broad as the ADS-B system will be.
