I now have had my traffic give me indications that there is traffic at my location and altitude several times. :-/ It only displays this for a fiew seconds then goes away. This occurs when I first come in range of the TIS service. Any ideas

This is fairly common with TIS. It has to do with the latency of the signal, and the fact that you have moved a little before the report back of your position.

I concur, this is a common issue with TIS in my experience. Some areas seem worse than others, Austin TX is particularly bad.
