My Tx is reporting altitude and squawking correctly but I'm getting a "transponder fail" message. Anyone know why?
Thanks, Craig

That means it is not receiving data back from the transponder, which I assume is a Garmin 327 or 330, not the Dynon unit. Did you wire the TX line of the transponder back to the SkyView? If not, you need to choose the generic encoder option, not the 327/330 which allows you to show the status on the top of the screen.

I had my GTX327 firmware updated for it to work. If you don't have an option of REMOTE for the RS232 output on CHNL 1 of the GTX327 you will need to update the firmware. Hold the FUNC key while turning on GTX327 to get to the configuration pages. Both serial wires need to be connected.

Skyview Port X TX -> GTX327 Port 1 RX pin 19
Skyview Port X RX <- GTX327 Port 1 TX pin 20

Is this something that is associated with the last update? I've been flying for 8 months and never saw the tx fail message. I noticed after the last software version, my 327 wasn't reporting altitude. I checked the set up and found that my previous Port connection was erased. When I assigned the tx a port again I started getting the "fail" message.

Skyview will display the transponder status on the upper line of the display to the right of the time. If you don't have the RX wire connected it will give an error. If you don't have the RX connected just change the Skyview serial port settings to say nothing is connected on the RX. The TX should be Icarus out.
