Transponder "offline"

Hi,
Was doing the 12.2 update today and while trying to update the transponder everything froze.  Not sure what happened, I was updating the second display when it happened.  I was unable to get it to unfreeze so ended up shutting power off after waiting an hour to see if it would clear itself.  Anyway. now the system says the transponder (a 261) is offline although I can see it is connected on the port and looks like it is sending data to it but there is no data returning.  I have rebooted the system several times without luck.  Can you help?  Thanks.

If this happens to a transponder, there is no way to recover it yourself. It will need to be returned to us to be re-programmed. Please contact us tomorrow and we can get you set up quickly. Sorry for the hassle, but ironically the certified nature of the transponder doesn't allow us to implement as strong of protections against this as our non-certified devices, which can be recovered in the plane in these situations.

I have the same problem after transponder (SV-XPNDER-261 SN 02745) software update.
I have transponder status "NOT FOUND" and "TRANSPONDER OFFLINE" with serial port-1 tx counter sending data and rx has no data. I switched The transponder to serial port-3 with no help.

Bruce did you get your transponder back from Dynon?
Is it up and working now?
I had the same issue with my transponder and sent it back last week.
