Troubleshoot SV-MAG-236

I have ADAHRS-200 and 201 stacked and installed in my carbon fiber airplane. I also installed an SV-MAG-236 in one wing. This is for background. Why I have this setup is not the subject of this question.

The 236 is detected by the configuration process. At least 5 compass calibrations have been attempted and all have failed, with failed appliance SN reported being that of the 236.

I disconnected the 236, performed another configuration so it is not in the config file and ran a ground compass test which passed. Ergo, the ADAHRS are OK.

The SV system sees the 236 but the 236 fails the compass test.

What are my troubleshooting step?

Naturally, the 236 is in a location and with a cable run that is very hard to get at and work with. I doubt if it's possible or feasible to pull or rerun the cable.

The only thing that comes to mind immediately is if the 236 is mounted in an incorrect orientation. It must be tabs down, connector forward. But beyond that, nothing immediately comes to mind. You might reach out to our support team (contact info in sig).

Thanks for the comments. I can assure you I installed the SV-MAG-236 with the tabs down. Then we picked up the wing, turned it top side up and installed it in the airplane. Wait! Drat. Could I have? NO! But I did. And it's such a trying place to work with my big hands. Good catch. Makes me feel silly.
