Turning off the heading indication

All,

Apologies if this is answered in the manual, but I'm at work and was wondering about the following:

Can one turn off the heading indication? Not just the bug...the whole thing!

I have not yet installed the remote compass module and, at first glance, my heading does seem to be wrong. As it turns out I've got additional systems that do provide heading information, so I'm covered for the time being. What I don't want is for any prospective pilot to see WRONG information.

Thanks,
Leonard

You can. It can be found under the SETUP menu, under the CLUTTR (declutter) function. The item you're looking for is HDG (heading).

What other functions can be disabled using the "Declutter" option? I don't yet own a D10A.

Airspeed tape, Airspeed digital display, Altitude Tape, Altitude digital, heading tape, the ball, turn rate indicator, angle of attack indicator, clock, baro setting, roll scale, and horizon markers can all be toggled. You can literally get the screen down to just a horizon line.

All of our product manuals are on-line so you can find out anything else you might want to know about the EFIS here:
