Twitchy Roll Turn-In?

I am very happy with the AP portion of the SV in my RV-12. A minor quibble I have with the AP is that it reacts in a somewhat "twitchy / jerky" manner whenever I use the ROLL control knob to initiate a turn - the AP seems to react too quickly to the ROLL input. Is there any adjustment I can make that would smooth the AP's initial turn-in reaction to my ROLL input?

Hi... Did you try to reduce the ROLL GAIN or the SENSITIVITY? These are the settings in a friend Dynamic WT9 (attached). As you can see, it works fine.

One thing you can do, if you haven't already, is make sure you're using Van's most recent tuning setups that you can download here: https://www.vansaircraft.com/public/downloads.htm. They've changed once or twice over time over the past few years. In general, we recommend using the AP tuning guide - downloadable from http://docs.dynonavionics.com to make adjustments and understand what the setttings do. One of the changes that you can try that doesn't fundamentally change the behavior of the autopilot is to decrease the bank angle limit.

Thanks guys for the ideas. I have been using Van's RV-12/SV setups, but I see that Van's has a new version I need to download. I'll give your ideas a try. :)

FYI - Per Dynon's suggestion, I reduced my Bank Limit from 20 degrees down to 15 degrees and my initial turn-ins are now much smoother and the AP turn rate is right at 3 degrees / second. Happy camper!
