Unable to get Glide Distance Ring on V14.0

I loaded V14.0 and flew it the first time today. I thought I set it up properly but I am unable to get the Glide Distance ring to appear on the map.
I set the Glide Sink Rate to 1300ft / min and set the map to include Glide Ring up to 50nm zoom range.
In no case do I get the green ring as depicted in the new user manual.
I tried changing the sink rate and the range to 20nm but still no Glide Ring.
What's wrong?

Are you in flight while checking this or on the ground? Do you also have your best glide speed set?

I am in flight. Where do you set best glide speed?
I have 1300 fpm set as best glide sink rate.

Ok - I found where I enter the Best Glide speed (Vg). Ill enter this and check it out.

The pilots operating handbook only says to configure the glide ring in the setup pages. The installation manual has a single obscure sentence that states that you have to set the 2 parameters in different setup menus. Why not have all pertinent information in the operating section? After all, everything is already installed. The glide ring is great once all is setup properly-- it was just difficult to find the setup instructions in the manuals.

What is wrong with this, from the Installation Manual:

Glide Ring Setup
In SkyView v14.0, the ability to display a Glide Ring was added. For instructions on how to use the Glide Ring feature, see the SkyView Pilot’s User Guide, Rev. W and later.
There are two settings that need to be adjusted for your specific aircraft for Glide Ring to be accurately displayed:
[ch61623] SETUP MENU > AIRCRAFT INFORMATION > SINK RATE DURING GLIDE
[ch61623] SETUP MENU > PFD SETUP > AIRSPEED LIMITATIONS > Vg – BEST GLIDE (under PERFORMANCE)

And this from the User's Guide:

The maximum range at which the glide ring will be visible is set in MAP > MAP MENU > MAP ITEMS

I'm not Jubarr.
Well, I only upgraded firmware.  I didn't install anything.  (Ok, I guess I installed firmware if some think that way) Therefore I thought it was appropriate to go to the operating instructions as opposed to the install manual.  I did find it eventually, it just took a very long time. Thought my experience might help others speed through the process.

Interesting thoughts. The general rule is that if it has to do with aircraft characteristics, it goes in the deep setup menus (behind buttons 7/8). Things that are in there are in the Installation Guide.

Things that are preferences that pilots might want to adjust in flight - like when the glide ring shows up on the map - are usually in the non-setup menu structure. Things that are more pilot-oriented are in the Pilot's User Guide.
