At 40% the Update froze. Nothing worked. I tried reboot, power off, etc. FInally I powered down (circuit breaker) and had to wait for the backup battery to discharge. Tried again, got to 28%. Third time was a charm and it worked.

WHat's going on?

There are a few progress bars that go by during an update with different titles. Do you know which one it was stopping on?

When you rebooted, did you need to load off the USB drive again or did it start the update by itself?

Our best guess is a flaky USB drive, but knowing the answers to the questions above will help.

It was "extracting file". just after "loading databases.....done!"

I reseated the USB stick, that might have helped. I used the same USB stick for the primary screen first, then the second screen which was the one that failed, so I'm guessing it is the connection not the stick.

Are you using the USB connections via the harness, or the 2 in the back of the screen? The harness USB for both my 7" Skyviews are unreliable.

If after resetting via 1/2/5 it's still getting stuck on the Dynon logo, our technical support team can help further, possibly with instructions to create a special USB recovery stick that can help in situations like these. Get in touch with them directly at support at dynonavionics dot com or a call at 425-402-0433.
