Updates!!

Hi,

I have a D180 and i am currently on version 4.0.0.

Is it ok to install the latest version or do i need to install the previous updates first?

i assume it is, as i dont see that the previous updates are available. Just thought i'd ask before doing something stupid :-/

Hi again,

Also i see that there is drivers available for the usb, serial cable. Do i need to install it first or just hook it up and see what happens?

I noticed at the back of my instrument panel that there is two serial cables, as i have d180, which one of these cables do i use for the update. They are labled,but cant remember what is said on them :-?

Each update is a full, stand-alone software load.  You can jump straight to the latest software version. There is no need to install each version in turn.

You need the USB-Serial drivers if you use XP. If you use Vista, then let windows get them automatically.

You should use the D9 connector that hooks to the D25 connector on the D180, maybe labeled "EFIS."

got the update done on friday. everything went 100%

One other thing, do i need to update the magnetic compass?

If you updated with the EFIS installed in the plane with the compass hooked up, it updated the compass at the same time.

If you didn't do that, you may need to update the compass as well if it was more than a few years old. If it was a recently shipped compass it should work fine.
