The HDX uses the same connections as your Classic box so it is an easy swap. There may be some files to backup/restore from the old to the new.
Also, the HDX will fit in the same panel cut-out but does not use all the same mounting screws (4 of 6 are the same, I think). I understand an adapter plate is available to fill the gap at the bottom of the HDX.
