Has anyone replaced the Dynon stock USBA to USBA panel mount cable with a USBA to USBC panel mount cable?

There are a number of these starting to appear on the market. I am considering replacing the USB-A/A and moving to USB-C memory chips, mainly because my ancient (2012) computer died and was replaced with one that has only usb-c ports and the SanDisk UltraFit chips have very slow write speeds. This combined with adapters that stress the USB ports on the new computer and the faster write speeds on the USB/C chips have my attention.

SanDisk ultra-fit USB-A 32 GB chips are self-throttled on write due to their limited heat dissipation capacity when writing. Although SanDisk and others widely report read speeds, very little is said about write speeds which is significantly slower in prolonged write operations. So, I'm at the point where I'm considering this change.

Yes…

I had two of the old USB-A modules in my plane, both of them went bad. By going bad they were creating a fault on my ACM with an overcharge warning.

I have since installed two of the new USB-A/USB-C modules.

Note: Dynon was surprised at not one but two of the older modules going bad, they told me it was really rare.

Thanks. Is there a separate module for the Skyview HDX?

My HDX has only USB-A ports on the back panel.

My plan was to get a cable with a USB/A end to plug into the HDX where the present A cable plugs into. The other end of this cable is a usb-C panel mount. There are a couple of vendors that sell them or I can 3d print an adaptor for a cable company I trust and mount the USB-C end into the panel.

Are you saying the modules on the HDX itself were a problem and were replaced or just the cables?

Sorry, mine that went bad were the charging ports for a phone or tablet. I had one in the panel for the wife’s phone, and one behind the panel to run a GoPro and one to run my iPad which is mounted in the panel.
