The D1 is great! I primarily have it in my Sonerai, an aircraft that I've never had an AI in.

I understand that the D1 was designed to it could be mounted in Certified (no connections to the pitot-static lines) but for those of us with experimental, how about modules that connect to the D1 via the USB:

Pitot-static connection to feed actual airspeed and altitude

and / or

a remote magnetic compass?

Just a thought.

We really designed the D1 as a very specific product, and not as an EFIS-D6/D10A replacement. We're always thinking about the best way to continue to serve experimentals, though! You're our biggest market segment!

I can appreciate that. BUT, some of us out there can't mount a D6 / D10 in our panels: they're too deep. That's one of the big things that sold me on the D1. I can shoe horn something remote, but if it's integrated I can only go a few inches into the panel.
