I am wiring my RV10 for dual 10 SkyView screens, and am not ready to purchase the boxes and harness yet, but I need to know how the USB wiring from the harness is terminated. I will be cutting the panel for a couple of USB receptacles to wire into the harnesses and need to know if they are just wires or is there a plug already installed on the harness?

Plug is already on the harness - I usually remove them for installs where access to back of the SV is relatively easy, just plug the USB stick into the port there as you don't need to do this very often. ;)

The 37 pin harness has a USB cable that terminates in a female USB that is not built to be panel mounted. There are also two more female USB ports on the back of the unit that you can connect to (only one USB stick is recognized at a time) You can buy (from your favorite electronics suplier) mountable USB ports and either extend the provided cable or connect directly to one of the other ports.

Got this info from Dynon months ago. They recommended a vendor located at the web site http://frontx.com/. I bought the dual P108 connector for about $15 on their webstore. It was a very nice install after waterjet cutting my panel. You can also get the P1011 single. They are located in Malaysia, but had quick shipping with no problems whatsoever.

I just installed this USB port as I installed the Dynon filters which kills the USB port built in the DB37 Harness.  I bought 2 of these cables from Dell for a total of $19.00, which included shipping.  I installed this just below the screen and the 12 “ cable is long enough to provide a small service loop for disconnecting when removing the screen.  The square hole was marked, drilled then filed square to give it a manufactured look.  Having it on the front will be convenient for flight plan upload now available for 3.1
