Is there an option to add a marker in the data logs for SkyView (v15)?

I searched both the installation and user SkyView Classic (v15) manuals for "logging", "mark now", and "mark" without success.

I'm trying to troubleshoot an issue and it would really help to be able to put a marker in the user log files for reference during review.

Thanks!

There is not a specific marker in the SkyView data log system.

Options:

1) Hook a button to an unused input on the EMS, and set it up as a contact. You don't have to display it on the screen. The state will be in the data log.

2) Use a less commonly used bug (IAS?). Change it each time you want to mark data. The value of the bug is in the datalog.

An existing contact also will work. I use a pump switch to mark parts of the data I want to examine later. Pitot heat is an option if you have it installed.

You could note the time on the screen and the action you want marked. I do this with a voice recorder, and sometimes with screenshot.

This would be a really easy thing to add under the Tools menu...just a simple "Data Mark" function that does this. Perhaps on your list of requested features?

Thanks! Great advice.

I have the Dynon Knob Panel and for my test flights and won't be using the HDG/TRK knob so that will work perfect for me. Mad at myself for not thinking of that!!! Duh!

Has the nice side benefit that I can set the HDG/TRK to a number (or similar) to match up with the test environment.

On the off chance the HDG/TRK info isn't in the user logs, I'll wire up a quick switch on a GP input of the EMS.

Definitely was stuck in the forest on this one! Got caught up in the idea of a dedicated Mark Now or similar button.  I think I saw it was available for another product line and "assumed" :)

Thanks!
