We're still on schedule for September, but we still can't be more specific than that.

So can you let the cat out the bag and tell us what is in the bag?

Hopefully some good waypoint loading devices ;)

And do you output autopilot trim announciation as well with the system log? Would be not that difficult to make an autotrim with such output.

And then backport it to the legacy series as I only had a D10A :)

The system output doesn't have trim flags, but it does have the force the servo is exerting, so if you really want to play, you could attempt to make an auto-trim out of this. No promises on how well it would work.

We will not be porting that output down to the D10A, but you knew that ;)

VP-X support and VP-200 support are totally different.

3.2 has outputs that the VP-200 needs, but Vertical Power needs to update the firmware in the VP-200 for it to work. You'll need to talk to them to find out the timeline for that.

Vertical power mentioned in their newsletter last month that once 3.2 is released, VP will include this data format in the VP-200 so the two units will work together.
The impression I have is that VP worked hard with Dynon for the last few months to make the VP200 happen before the committed end of year.

To be clear - the end of the year commitment was for VP-X integration. And 3.2 beats it by a quarter.

Everything that the VP200 needs is in the upcoming serial output that is also in 3.2, but that technically doesn't have anything to do with the VP-X integration. As stated above, once 3.2 is live, the data is there for the VP-200 consume, once the VP-200 software update is ready. VP does have some early access to 3.2, of course, so that they can deliver that functionality as soon as they can.

serial data

I understand that the serial data will be available in 3.2. When will the data format be available for other uses such as developing auto trim etc. this request has nothing to do with vertical power. I would like to develop my own add ons.

will the serial data information be in the skyview install manual for 3.2 or separate documentation.

The data output format will be in the documentation available the same day 3.2 is released.

There is a preliminary version of the ADAHRS output here, but I think a few byes have been added in the implementation.

There will also be a "system" output that has things like autopilot and transponder data in the same basic format.

that would be really nice if the skyview autopilot could give information to the VPX to modify the trim!!

I really think that those 2 systems are done to work together!!
