VDO fuel sender

Hi,
I'm using VDO fuel senders with changing resistance (20 to 150 ohm, empty to full).
As the sender has only two conection wires I guess I have to put one to 5V excitation and the other end to pin 20 or 21, is that correct?

One of the wires goes to ground, one goes to the EMS. You don't use the +5V excitation at all in this case.
