Thanks. I’ll sleep better tonight.

You might want to add this to your fine machine.

Or at the very least this.

Only because you’re a person I respect I am sitting back and being patient😉
My frustration is, Dynon has seen all these posts and yet never took the time you took to respond with a simple update. In this case no news is seen as bad news.
Version 15 is working well enough and my experience is updates have come with a need for a patch, I’m fine waiting until it’s ready, just be nice to know status versus ignoring the questions.
Thank you for your update

@David Brown,
Thanks so much for the comments from someone on the inside (in the know)! It's the uncertainty that creates angst! I especially like the phrase "...about to unfold... ". Keep up the good work.

Dynon actually doesn't monitor their own forums much at all - which many folks are surprised to hear. And yes, there are good things in the pipeline, some of which I know about and can't speak of, others that I'm certain exist but I don't know about. They will release it when it's ready, and no before. Now that the Skyview system is into the certified market there is a lot more oversight and second-guessing about the software and manuals.

One could argue that the long long delay between releases makes it that much harder to do the next release. Scope creep, ongoing feature enhancements, more "fixes". I wonder if there has ever been a line drawn in the sand at any point this year.

There's that saying- "If he was the principle engineer for the space shuttle- it would never get off the ground".

Principal. Not principle. :)

So we do monitor the forum pretty actively - we actually read every post. We try to do a little less technical support on here these days, in part to consolidate support issues with our tech support staff - who have their own ticketing system, tools, etc that work together.

As for v16: I wish I had better news to share. It's been slower than we planned, by a lot, as those of you that have been waiting know. There's a good amount of autopilot performance work that we hope will be well-received, but we also don't want to raise expectations on there being a feature list that has been growing and growing endlessly. You do deserve a more meaningful update though - I'll see what I can do to pull one together.

Thanks, an update \expected release date from the factory would be great!.

For me, biggest need is AutoPilot improvements, still quite clunky. {Technical term :) } n

Really am enjoying the HDx otherwise, very impressive, keep up the good work.

steve m,

Any update on when your update might be forthcoming?
Or have you already posted it in another thread?

Thanks!

Hi David, sorry for the very late reply, I am not on these forums much.

I have no connection with Dynon. I am a only a customer, So I have no knowledge of when V16 will be released.

(I am hoping soon)

Well there is one possibility, given the software and data updates are now split between certified and experimental....such that a firmware update, after beta testing is released to experimental only, for a few months Beta + use in the real world with those of us that have been willing to take a little more risk to fly an experimental. I generally fly a full 6 approaches and holding patterns with a new firmware release before I would consider entering the clouds with it. Gives more testing to make sure any oddball bug is caught and reported before the update is issued to certified.
