Apologies if this has come up before, but I would like to suggest an option of a vertical screen orientation, like the current Garmin G3x, aspen. or the BMA sports.

a vertically oriented D180 or Skyview would look and function well beside a garmin 696....

We don't have plans for this - but we have adjusted the symbology on the SkyView system to be more vertically oriented - meaning - that now the PFD has the DG/HSI located beneath the other primary flight instruments, just like you'd see on thinner vertical EFISes like those seen in the big iron.

Yes, but a vertical orientation would help those of us that have vertical  space in our panel but little horizontal panel space due to existing instruments. The option to mount vertical instead of horizontal is a huge factor for some of us. That is one reason ASPEN can sell it's expensive system.

Another issue that we have discussed before, is that screens are made to be viewed at certain angles, and if we rotate the screen, it doesn't look very good. So we'd have to order custom screens, which would cost a lot of money for what appears to be little demand.

Aspen's screens are not wider than our D10A screens, so if you are that limited in panel space, you can install two D10A's ;) Even a 1" Skyview vertically is twice as wide as a D10A or Aspen.

But two D10As don't have the features of the Skyview. This would provide builders more options. BUT, I can see the logic of not having to go to a more expensive screen.
