Many engines have permanent alternators that don't output any significant current at low RPM's. This shows up as lower bus voltage at idle. After the RPM comes up, so does the voltage.
How about adding a way to generate a low voltage alarm only when the RPM is above a certain user-defined level. This would prevent nuisance alarms after startup but alert us in-flight if the alternator allows the bus voltage to fall too low.
