VPX Offline

HI All

I am finishing up an install of Skyview and I am getting a VPX offline message on the display. I do have and have installed the VPX license code, and until this morning, I had no issues with the VPX screen coming up and being able to control the VPX circuits. All was normal, and even now the serial port is communicating normally with the VPX, but I can't access the VPX display and get the big red X with the message VPX offline. How can that be? Since the HDX1100 was new, it had v17.0 loaded on it, so I upgraded it to 17.1 hoping that it would solve the issue, but it didn't. Any ideas? This is my third install of Skyview / VPX and have had no issues up to this point.

Understand it’s real hard sometimes troubleshooting online considering “We” are unable to see/know how your plane is wired. If I was a betting man I’d say the ‘fault’ is not with the VPX itself - from my experience they don’t fail unless it’s an installer induced problem.
I’d recheck the serial wires between the HDX & VPX thoroughly & see what the Rx/Tx & Error messages say in the Dynon serial port you’ve wired it to.
FWIW - the software in the VPX is solid, that’s why it hasn’t changed in around 12? Years.
When you find the issue it would be appreciated seeing that posted here - it could help others who may experience a similar problem 😉

Without making a single change to Skyview, it came back online again yesterday, and yes the serial port communication was normal. The serial port communications have been normal all along. I have been conversing with Dynon support as well. I went out to the shop first thing yesterday and got the offline message, but later after I installed my audio panel (Garmin GMA245) and began testing it, it came back online. So far, so good, but who knows? If I discover something, I'll let you know.
