Will an SL-30 drive a 106a indicator & Dynon D10a?

I have a Dynon D10a, Garmin SL-30, Garmin 396 & Garmin 106a indicator.

The Dynon is the new piece of equipment that I want to add to the mix.

Will the SL-30 drive both the 106a indicator & the dynon ?

Are there any settings on the SL-30 that I need to change?

I also plan on switching the nav input for the dynon between the SL-30
and the 396, any issues with that?

The SL-30 can drive both at once. Just run the SL-30 serial output to the D10A receive wire. No settings in the SL-30 need to change. Be aware that with this setup, you still set your OBS with the 106A, and the D10A will show this setting.

Installing an external switch to go between the inputs is supported and should work fine.

Thanks for the info!

The Serial port was not set to be active, after that it only shown GPS data.

There is a data format setting that was set to NMEA, I checked the options, they were SL30, NMEA & AUTO. When set to auto it displayed nav data from the SL30 or the 396. There was a few seconds of delay between the display change when the serial data source was switched.

Please post your settings under the Compatibility section of the Wiki!

Here is the compatibility page.  Once you register you will have an option to EDIT the page.

I would recommend that you put a special entry in the "Known to Work" column, on the SL30 line (or add that line if it's not there), with a link to a new page for the indicator.  Maybe we should change the compatibility table / page name to include Nav radios as well as GPS units.  Anyway, the entry would look something like this:

[http://wiki.dynonavionics.com/SL30_And_106Indicator 106-Indicator]

Once you add the link, save, and click on the link the new page is created blank, and you can edit that page.

If you want to get fancy like I did for the GNS 480 and do pretty tables, check out this page:   I'm a bit more fastidious than some others!

The settings to accept data from the SL30 & 396 are:

-Local Data Port
>EFIS SERIAL
>INPUT AUTO >BAUD RATE 9600

There is a problem switching direct from one source to another, it persists the prior source's data.

I had to switch to the center off of the toggle switch, until the data cleared from the EFIS, which was about 6 seconds, then switch to the other source.

Is there a setting that would allow faster detection of the different nav data source?

Are you running the latest version of firmware?

There are occasions when the signal from devices drops out momentarily due to noise or bad data from a gps/radio. To counter that, the EFIS waits a bit before looking for new data when it seemingly goes away. But, the fact that you had to disconnect before it would acquire a new source isn't by design. We'll look into that on our end.

Hello, Thanks for the quick reply. I am running 5.20 on the D10a with a remote magnetometer, OAT & Encoder.
