Hi,

Using the D-100 since 2 years with 100 % satisfaction, I still try to calibrate the wind information who's actualy wrong because of the air speed indication is not correct. My D-100 is installed on a Rans Coyote S6.

I suppose it's a static problem, but the think is that the air speed is correct at 100 km/h, the error increase with the speed.

You will fine below some speed indications.

Air speed indicated on the D-100   -     Real air speed

100 km/h                                           -     100 km/h (correct)
130 km/h                                           -     125 km/h
150 km/h                                           -     140 km/h
200 km/h                                           -     180 km/h

Do you have a possibility to calibrate the air speed on the Dynon ?

Sorry for my poor english I am a poor Belgium guy speaking French ;-)

We do not have a way to correct airspeed. Given that static problems also affect altitude (and affect altitude vs speed), we really suggest you correct the static issue. There have been a lot of posts on this forum and others on how to tweak your static system for better performance.

Yep, unless you bench test the unit and it is calibrated wrong (highly unlikely) it is a static or pitot issue - more often static. Getting the static system can be time consuming and tedious.

Low airspeed = static pressure too high or pitot pressure too low. Confirm that your pitot angle equates to "straight ahead" in high-speed cruise and that there are no leaks. For the static port, you may need to try forcing it to have a slightly different angle to prevent any forward-facing angle that could cause it to get "pressurized," or even relocate the port to a lower-pressure point out of turbulence.

Good luck!
