I updated to Skyview vers 14.0 without obvious difficulty. However when I attempted to update my xponder it went into something called power cycle after update. When I rebooted the system, after complete the update, it no longer recognizes my xponder and will not force configure it. Any ideas?

As explained in the SkyView System Installation Guide, Revision W, which we update for every new firmware release, after you apply the firmware update to the transponder, you must disconnect, and reconnect power to the transponder for the new transponder firmware to take effect. Until you perform that "power cycle" on the transponder, SkyView will not be able to communicate with the transponder.

Also as explained in the SkyView System Installation Guide, the transponder is connected to SkyView via "RS-232 serial port", not SkyView Network, thus you would never see the transponder listed as one of the SkyView Network devices.

I disconnected the power via master switch and reconnect, but the problem persists.

Do I need to disconnet and reconnet the cables also?

Thanks for you attention.

Please post a screen shot of what you're seeing on the display. Push button 2+7 to record a screen shot to a USB flash drive.

Everybody that helped, thank you all very much.

Today morning, after 3 days disconnected, and two more power cycles, it started working.

It´s ok by now.

Have a nice week.

Roger - Did it stop responding right after the update? If so, did the update seem to get all the way through?

The update seemed to finish and when rebooting it shows V14.
It was on the reboot after the update that the transponder did not come up and the screen looks just like the one above.

Did you remove power / disconnect power / turn off the switch or breaker to the transponder, and then turn it back on?

If not, that's the problem as to complete the firmware update IN the transponder, requires that power to the transponder be turned off and turned back on again (at which point, the new firmware is now installed).

Do you have two displays? If so, turn off one display; is transponder status normal on that display?
Then turn off the one that's powered on, and power on the one that was off; is the transponder normal on that display?
(This diagnoses if the transponder is wired to both displays, as required.)

What serial port is the transponder connected to? Could you show us a screenshot of that serial port?

If none of those work, please contact Dynon Avionics Technical Support - 425-402-0433 or support AT dynonavionics DOT com to arrange to have the transponder sent back for evaluation.

I have cycled the power with the master switch many times.
I only have one display
I also have a VPX installed and have cycled the power to the transponder with that.

OK, looks like something happened during or after the firmware update. We'll get the RMA set up to get it back to Dynon Avionics for checkout as soon as you contact Technical Support.
