Zaon TAWS icon failure

It may only be a coincidence but since the latest Jep update the TAWS icon does not now appear on Skyview screen
all settings appear to be communicating and OK
any ideas :-?

TAWS is an acronym for terrain avoidance and warning. The Zaon is a traffic device. Can you please re-describe the issue you are seeing?

The icon that is generated ON SKYVIEW as a result of communications from the Zaon XRX wihich normally displays in recent Times "partial traffic" has not appeared since the last JEPPENSEN UPDATE
this maybe only a coincidence but the issue remains

In addition unless I have missed something Dynon has no reference or integration info on the Zaon web sight :-/

DS - BGK had his Zaon displaying just fine before I did a major upgrade to his wiring including adding the VP-X system.

His serial port input is working with the numbers incrementing as expected but no traffic shown - the only thing I know that has changed is that he upgraded the database (Jepps I think).

He is about 2 hrs from here so not easy to physically check his system

We do support ZAON devices and have for a long time. We have no idea how just uploading a new Jepp database could mess this up. Are you sure you didn't also update the Dynon firmware at the same time you changed to Jepp, and you didn't add any other equipment that connects to the SkyView system?

Is it saying "FAIL" or "ZAON" in the corner or is it just blank?

In main setup->TRAFFIC SETUP make sure you don't have SHOW TRAFFIC ON MFD set to NONE.

Got it sorted ??????
Went into setup and the TRAFFIC entries were greyed
so could not check or change
After a while of head scratching I went into Transponder Setup
RECENTLY installed a Dynon TRANSPONER
SCROLLED DOWN TO some item labelled TIS Traffic
Two options
1. ON (USA ONLY)
2. OFF
now considering I live in Australia it was naturally in the OFF position

so I then had a thought and yes I turned it ON (USA only)

Now I have my ZAON PARTIAL icon back

could someone explain why settings in the Transponder setup alters the function of the Zaon PCAS XRX to the SV Dynon screen :-?

You found a bug we know about and introduced in 5.X software that will be fixed in the upcoming release. That selection does affect all TIS devices, even though it shouldn't. Leave it ON for now, and when you get 6.0 you can turn it back off.

6.0 is available for you to try out. The bug mentioned in this thread is fixed:

Our development team has made liars out of us marketeers. We claimed June, but it's still May, and SkyView 6.0 is available NOW at http://downloads.dynonavionics.com.

All documentation for the update, as well as for the COM and Intercom is available at http://docs.dynonavionics.com.

Note that the Intercom and Radio don't go on sale until Monday, June 3.
