I'm thinking of how to set up the Map Info column. I understand it is largely personal preference, but am curious to know your setup to see if there are some good layouts I should emulate.
My airplane is IFR capable, and I want to support that kind of mission, but I mostly fly VFR on shorter, often direct routes.
Thanks for any observations.
Also, my Map Info column seems to be not Touch capable. Is this normal?

Attached is a screenshot taken from my Co-Pilot display showing how I configured my Map Info column. The top 4 boxes display my Next Waypoint info, with the next 4 showing the Final Destination info.

The 2 lower boxes show VSR/Vertical Speed Required (to Next Waypoint) and Ground Speed. Since Dynon's update of adding the AGL option, I have changed my lowest box to display this info instead of Ground Speed.

I'm not sure about the Map Info boxes being Touch Capable, as I've never tried. I searched the Installation and Pilot User Guides and find no reference that they are. If they were, what would you want to adjust/change?

Here is what I have mine set to. I fly IFR and VFR. I have an IFD540 for primary navigation. This works out perfect for me.

I have a 10" Dynon Skyview HDX and a Garmin GTN625. If I load a flight plan into the Dynon, appropriate data will display on the Map Info column. If I load the same flight plan into the Garmin and then select Garmin as the feed source, the data will display on the GTN625 but will not display on the HDX Map Info column. I don't see any discussion of this issue in the Dynon Pilot's Guide.
This is not a huge deal, as some of the info is on the Garmin screen, but I'm used to seeing that info on Map Info and wonder if anyone knows how to display the Garmin info on the HDX Map Info display?

here is what I've got. I moved the AGL to the very bottom (closer to the "ground"). This helps with departure turn at 400 feet without going through the terrible anguish of calculating the offset from the field elevation. 😆

I'm not sure about the usefulness of the GPS ALT card.. may be it needs to go. Wonder if there is an option to put the UTC time instead.

ve0kog - How did you get your pitot heat widget to work? I can't get my Dynon pitot to correctly indicate (always indicates ON) and working with Dynon tech support, was told they couldn't either.

veOkog, UTC time is already in your topbar. GPS Alt would be useful for me only when my single ADHRS fails since I don't have another altimeter.

Looks like AGL and VSR and some Waypoint info makes it most setups.

good question. The original builder got it to work somehow. Will try to remember to take a picture of the wiring diagram and related settings in the hdx next time im at the hangar.

I'm in the same condition - the pitot heat indicator on my screen shows only that the heat controller is active, or not. It does not show the pulsing behavior of the heater itself, only tells me if the heat controller is on or off. That's the only output that the heat controller has available for output. I suppose you could put a shunt on the power line going to the heater and display the amps being pulled by it, but that's about the only way.
