    eBay Warning!

Is there any chance you keep a database of scrapped unit serial numbers to help prospective buyers avoid such a mistake? Might be nice if you published these; then a buyer would have better legal recourse if sold a scrapped unit.

    Skyview Network Cable Testing Checklist?

I know the Skyview network cable setup is very simple, but I bought a plane I did not build and have had two ADAHRS failures in the past couple of hours of flight. Initial ADAHRS operated for over 15 hrs, but the airspeed was always erratic. Returned that, new one failed at 2 hrs of operation...

    Skyview ADHARS-200 failure

I'm returning my second ADAHRS in only 3 weeks. I bought a plane that sat for a couple of years because the builder died, so everything was about 3 years out of date.  Flew ok for ~20 hrs on the original ADAHRS, but airspeed was erratic - so I sent it in.  They did spend a heroic amount of...

Skyview WiFi Adapter and Software Updates

Well it answers my question anyway - no automagic updates. I agree there is a small security concern, but if the software were designed ONLY to allow connection to the Dynon site I have to believe that is a pretty small concern. ET phone home, etc.

Skyview WiFi Adapter and Software Updates

Ok in theory I'm thinking that if you set up your phone as a mobile hotspot and your Skyview is equipped with the WiFi adapter, it should be possible for the Skyview to download all the latest software updates directly from the Dynon site without first manually downloading each to a flash drive...

    Configuring GTN 650

Hi all, In the manual I found what my settings need to be in order to output the correct info to the Skyview unit, but I cannot find how to access the setup screens on the GTN 650 which need to be accessed to configure those settings. Is there something I need to do on boot up to access these...

    NARCO Radios Transponder

Looks like Dynon was the straw that broke the camel's back!

    LOP indication in data download?

Not really necessary. All the info you need is there. RPM, FF, MP, OAT. If the sensors are installed and correctly calibrated, you can determine LOP yourself. You could even go so far as to load the power tables in another tab, then use the VLOOKUP function to tell you how much ROP / LOP you...

    Return Flow function

As they said, it's really a "manual correction." Ideally you will install the flow sensor downstream of any return line (if possible) so that what the sensor "sees" is the actual flow to the engine.

Time for SkyView with Touch Screen

I'll second what Dynon says. Give me real knobs with exaggerated clicks that I can grab onto when flying through the rough stuff in the soup over a touch-screen any day.

    Heads Up Display

A HUD is old technology. A far better answer is a motion-sensing headset such as the Army chopper pilots use. It is clear so you can see the "real" world through it, but as you turn your head you can also see whatever it is programmed to display. Thus, you might "see" terrain beneath your...

    ETHERNET Connectivity of devices

Formation flying is not an issue with Bluetooth. People walk past one another with BlueTooth earpieces all the time (which transmit a lot more data in the form of a voice stream than, say, an AHARS does) and don't lose any data. BlueTooth does not interfere with GPS or other aviation broadcast...

    Manifold Pressure Sensor Location

What type of electronic ignition do you have? Many are not supposed to be mounted in the engine compartment. I have both MAP sensor and EE inside the firewall. Don't forget to place some kind of restrictor in the MAP sensor air line. If you don't, you will get a highly fluctuating MAP reading.

    D180 consistently showing lower airspeed

Most airspeed errors are caused by static problems. The location, angle of mounting, etc. of the static port is absolutely critical. A leak in the pitot side of the system will not lower the pressure unless it is nearly as big as the pitot orifice. A pinhole in static can change the reading.

    Data Logging Defaults

Does the EMS portion of the D180 log by default?  Are the data fields recorded the same as in the appendix of the user's guide (which looks like it is for real-time logging)? Thanks.
