    Seattle Avionics DataManager crashes Win7-64bit

UPDATE: My W7 64 bit failed again.  I have reverted to running the update software on an old XP machine, where it seems to be working fine.  I use this old pc now for the database updates.  I have removed all of it from my W7 64 bit machine. Also, I was trying this on a networked W7 64 bit PC...

Can I use Contact inputs? Manual says 2,3,4 = NO

I would like to use one of the display contact inputs to display a warning from a low oil level sensor I have purchased from Aircraft Extras. The manual says that contact 1 is for an external LEVEL button, and that 2,3,4 are not supported at this time. I believe this question may have been...

    Seattle Avionics DataManager crashes Win7-64bit

UPDATE: I had a friend look into this for me, he is more computer savvy. He decided to delete the existing databases, and it appears they may have been corrupted, because now the program runs without crashing, and has downloaded all of the data again. Thank you Dynon and now Seattle. I...

    Seattle Avionics DataManager crashes Win7-64bit

I was able to download all the charts the first time I installed DataManager. I have since reinstalled it, due to it crashing often, and it continues to crash. Any advice would be appreciated.

Considering replacing Trutrak ADI II with Dynon AP

OK, Thanks. My RV-9A airplane is flying with the Tru Trak in the left wing. I have purchased the Dynon and kit while planning to replace the Tru Trak. The Dynon kit was for the right wing. If I can just replace the servo, and reuse the wiring, it will save a lot of work fishing the wires, and...

Considering replacing Trutrak ADI II with Dynon AP

Question: Does this mean that I could replace the Tru Trak servo in my left wing, with the Dynon servo I have purchased with a kit to install in the right wing?

    Garmin GTR 200 interface

I have just called Garmin, to ask why the GTN boxes cannot be remotely tuned in the same way as their stand alone radio's can. The guy there did not have an answer, but said he would submit it to engineering for review as a future software update to the GTN units. Maybe if enough customers...

Garmin GNC 255 and Skyview - limitations

I have just called Garmin, to ask why the GTN boxes cannot be remotely tuned in the same way as their stand alone radio's can. The guy there did not have an answer, but said he would submit it to engineering for review as a future software update to the GTN units. Maybe if enough customers...

Version 6 killed the track output to my Tru Trak

Good News! Today I installed version 7, and also changed the serial port setting to NMEA FULL. To my utter surprise, the Tru Trak was now happy with the data stream! I was able to track the magenta line. When I got back I realized I was so excited I only tested using the Skyview GPS source to...

Version 6 killed the track output to my Tru Trak

I had tried that setting way back with version 4 I believe when I initially connected the Skyview to the Tru Trak.  It did not work then. I can try it again, but the Basic setting had been working before, and now will not. I now use the Skyview just to follow along, while using the GTN-650 for...

Garmin GNC 255 and Skyview - limitations

Regarding this subject, but with a Garmin GTN-650. I have the GTN-650 connected with the ARINC-429. My question is I would now like to connect the GTN-650 using a serial port to obtain all of these nice radio tuning features so described for the 255. Has anyone reported this will work? It would...

    Grand Canyon SFRA

I flew over the Grand Canyon by taking the waypoints off of the online chart from skyvector, writing down the GPS coordinates, and then entering those into the SkyView as user waypoints. I connected the dots into a flight plan, and went flying along the chart established areas. This is my most...

Version 6 killed the track output to my Tru Trak

My theory is this. Because I do not have the Dynon roll servo, I also do not have the roll autopilot buttons. (TRK+ALT or HSI+ALT) As far as the software knows, I only have the pitch servo, so it never goes into the roll tracking mode. This was changed with the 6.0 software revision. Prior to...

Version 6 killed the track output to my Tru Trak

Version 6.2 did nothing to fix my problem of no navigation data on the RS-232 signal feeding my Tru Trak roll servo controller. THIS WORKED BEFORE the 6.0 series of updates. I am left with using my Garmin GTN-650 to drive the roll servo controller for now. I eventually will need to replace the...

Version 6 killed the track output to my Tru Trak

I sent the PM, and got no response. I still have this problem. I have been flying using the GTN-650 serial output data to the Tru Trak, and this works just as well as the Dynon USED TO. :'(

Version 6 killed the track output to my Tru Trak

I have both screens connected in parallel using serial port one. This has not changed AND It worked before the software update to 6.0. I will double check the wire colors, and attempt to fly with one screen off to test again. I had a working situation until after the update.  The Tru Trak is...

Version 6 killed the track output to my Tru Trak

Update: I connected a serial output from my GTN-650 through a switch to the TruTrak. With this connection, I was able to track a flight plan from the Garmin. Switching back to the SkyView serial output is the same, no flight plan tracking. This seems to confirm that what was working before, the...

Version 6 killed the track output to my Tru Trak

I have checked the serial port, and it was set correctly. I experimented with changing it to none, and the data stopped flowing, and the Tru Trak display changed to reflect this.  I enabled the serial port again, the data started flowing, and the Tru Trak display again changed to reflect this. I...

Version 6 killed the track output to my Tru Trak

Background: I was using a skyview serial port output to supply basic NMEA data to my Tru Trak digital AP controller. Once on a flight plan, the Tru Trak would track the magenta line on the sky view. I only have a dynon pitch servo. The Tru Trak servos are installed in the wings from years ago...

    Dynon Start-up?

I always boot the pilot side, which has the backup battery first, master switch off, to test the battery is functioning using the first button. When I then turn on the master switch, the passenger side boots up without pushing the button.
