    Headset and Mike Jack Wiring?

The pins are actually numbered on the connector but the numbers are really really tiny.

    Headset and Mike Jack Wiring?

Are you sure you're testing it correctly? For sure I remember blue is always ground. It should correspond to pin 1.

    Headset and Mike Jack Wiring?

Technically all three do get used for phones but a non-stereo headset only needs two. You should wire all three to the jack though. The manual does not mention colors; instead they seem to expect people to test each wire to identify it instead of relying on color. It's kind of annoying.

    Starting With Dynon On

For sure the EFIS/ADAHRS/EMS are fully equipped to deal with the voltage spikes, both high and low (if you have the backup battery), when starting. This is confirmed in the documentation. Obviously you want to monitor oil pressure instantly when starting the engine and the only way to do that is...

My voice is really hard to hear when transmitting

I noticed Pilot USA sells a couple of 150-ohm microphones and the product page states "pre-amp required for general aviation". So perhaps 150-ohm microphones are not directly compatible with the radio? Does anyone know what sort of microphones are required, or if there exists some kind of...

My voice is really hard to hear when transmitting

The helmet is by Flycom using Peltor speakers but I do not know who makes the mike. The website only says it is a 150 ohm electret mike. Today I did borrow another headset and my voice was loud and clear with it so I have no idea what is wrong with the mike. Both helmets have the same issue.

My voice is really hard to hear when transmitting

The microphone does not have a gain screw.

    Dynon COM weak and broken

I don't have a SWR meter but my symptoms are exactly the same as his and no solution has yet been posted to my thread...

My voice is really hard to hear when transmitting

I'm pretty sure it does not but I'll verify with the manufacturer. But my voice sounds loud and clear on the intercom, verified with passengers conversing with me, the camera recording audio, and sidetone. All are loud and clear. So I suspect that is not the problem...

My voice is really hard to hear when transmitting

The amp input does not seem to be connected on mine; I didnt create the wiring harnesses so not sure if it was overlooked or what. I will try to hook up something somewhere to read current draw... the power input for the radio is easily accessed. Speaking of which, radio power does go through a...

My voice is really hard to hear when transmitting

I'm not talking about sidetone of course. Other people, including ATC, can barely understand me because my transmissions are so quiet. I have confirmed this downloading archives on liveatc.net. But, again, on the intercom it sounds just fine, and I sometimes record flights with a GoPro hooked...

My voice is really hard to hear when transmitting

My helmet/headset has a 150-ohm microphone impedance and my voice is really quiet and hard to hear when transmitting over the radio, although the intercom picks up my speech without any issue. Also, when doing the gain test in radio setup, it always says "LOW" no matter what gain I use (even...

    Highway numbers? (e.g. US 1, I-80, SR 52, etc.)

It's really common for ATC to direct me to fly over a specific highway, or make a turn over the highway, or to report when I've crossed over a specific highway. I've only used the vector map so far, and while it can render highways, it does not ever seem to render their identifying numbers...

Hard to tell if ADS-B traffic is above or below

I discovered when transitioning over a busy airport that it can be almost impossible to tell the difference between + and - on a busy screen, so e.g. traffic listed as "-04" looks virtually identical to traffic listed as "+04". Can you please modify it so there is a more obvious indicator...

    External Dimmer Question

You're right, I tested it today and the HDX is correctly linearly interpolating the brightness values; it was just the once-per-second refresh that threw me off.

Looking for feedback on Skyview and audio options

But if you use the radio without SkyView then the buttons for tower, ground, etc. don't do anything, right? Those buttons are what make it so easy to use.

    External Dimmer Question

Well mine doesn't. My potentiometer is about 12V at the 'full' setting, smoothly varying to 0V at minimum, but the HDX display only has 5 possible brightness settings when using it. It does not interpolate. I don't really care because I always have it either at full brightness or minimum...

    External Dimmer Question

I think this is how it's meant to work...? At least that's how it works for me. You define the volts for 25%, 50%, and 75% brightness, so you just get those exact brightness amounts and not a smooth interpolation.
