Looking for feedback on Skyview and audio options

In following the "keep it simple" philosophy, a lot of com radios can monitor the standby frequency eliminating the need for a second radio. and intercom.

    Full autonomy

I don't have first hand experience but the hanger rat at the place I coffee says his boss spends 20 minutes programing the AP in his Beechcraft Premier and other than taxi and takeoff/landing it pretty much takes him there hands free. Depends on how much money you want to spend I guess.  ;D ;D

    Charging power for iPad

I don't have any brand names. The ones that worked were just cheap ones that my wife picked up at the dollar store. I bought a Duracell that was $15 and it generated static so it's kind of hit and miss which ones work. For my Stratux I found this at Amazon. I wired it to the back of my...

    Charging power for iPad

I went through a few cigarette lighter USB adapters before I found a couple that don't cause RF interference.

    DBm Ah

I used a terminal block. I spliced the network cable to the ADAHRS in and out on one side and the servos on the other. It also gave me a place to add the power/ground and CWS wires.

    LOP Temp shown as Celsius

-10C is just the difference. If it is in Celcius then (-10 x 9 / 5) = -18F. Not as lean as you thought. ;)

    Shunt and ammeter?

Losing the ECU would mean losing the engine so when it gives a warning I perk up. Turns out it was a fried wire (lose connection) between the ANL fuse and the shunt. All fixed now.

    Shunt and ammeter?

I agree with RayInGA. The load tells me something about the system. I developed an intermittent problem with my alternator. I'll have to admit that a voltage drop caused my ECU to issue a warning that Skyview relayed with an audio warning that scared the beegeezes out of me. But it was the drop...

    Heads Up Display (HUD)

Search this forum. There was a product displayed at one of the shows for the Skyview. Not a Dynon product.

    Possible HSI Source Bug

Maybe or maybe not. It wasn't intuitive to me that the NAV sources disappeared because the g-meter was displayed. My bad. The fact that the AP->NAV SRC button didn't seem to be doing anything added to the confusion. If it was greyed I would have suspected that it would come back once I had the...

    Possible HSI Source Bug

I agree. I was on a five day xcountry so had time to figure it out. It all works as you say. The only thing confusing was the HSI SRC button is still available on the AP menu when the g-meter is selected. Pressing it changes the source but the current source isn't displayed so I couldn't see...

    Possible HSI Source Bug

Makes sense. I did a short flight today to explore it further. Here is the behavior I saw. If I select the G meter from the PFD the HSI SRC disappears from the PFD menu. I believe that is normal behavior. HSI SRC is still available from the AP menu but I don't know if it does anything as there...

Adding Second Skyview And Most Avionics

You are going to have to rewire the serial ports (if they were used) and re configure them so whether you start from scratch or not you still have to carefully configure stuff. You probably don't want to wipe out the EMS configuration. It won't change. I would just add the new stuff and...

    Config transfers

There are all sorts of things in there like the tail number, operational time, total flight time, etc. Probably not a good thing to replace the entire file. You can load just parts of the file. For sure make a backup before you replace any of it.

    Possible HSI Source Bug

As mentioned in my message, I did have a DTO selected using Skyview as the source. The magenta line was on the MAP and DTW and ETE NEXT were functioning. I found a screen shot from dec.03.2016 that shows this. Different time but same anomaly. It's not consistent. Here is a screen shot with...

    Possible HSI Source Bug

I just received my Skyview back from repairs. The settings were intact. On the first flight I had no HSI SRC's. I only have two. A GPS495 and the Dynon GPS. The only options in AP were HDG and TRK. The NAV was greyed out. No sources were showed on the PFD and I couldn't change the HSI SRC from...

    Capacitane to Voltage Converter

My main tank capacitance fuel sender only moved 0.5 volts for 14 points. The calibration is showing six digits so the fact that yours is only moving a hundredth of a volt doesn't necessarily mean it's not accurate.

    Engine page layout measurements

I haven't had a chance to work on it for a while so some of the newer stuff isn't implemented.

    User Logs - Mark Now?

An existing contact also will work. I use a pump switch to mark parts of the data I want to examine later. Pitot heat is an option if you have it installed.

    Engine page layout measurements

Hmmm. Thanks for the heads up Vern. It seems to run on my development system but I'll install it on another computer to see what's going on.
