    Skyview SV-NET Cable

The DB-9 pins can accept up to 20g wire but 22g is likely sufficient.

    Com 1 vs Com 2

It is totally your decision on which radio is Com1 vs Com2. I tend to agree that the easy tuning of the SV radio would be a good candidate as 1 but it really doesn't matter. If you have an audio panel (non-Dynon), it's a simple button push to select which radio you want to use.

    Skyview SV-NET Cable

I don't think Dynon's wire is Tefzel. There is other aircraft appropriate wire.

    Skyview SV-NET Cable

    Correct, @airguy, no shielding.

    Skyview SV-NET Cable

I cut several of the 18" cables in half and re-terminated. You can build them from scratch using 20-22g Tefzel. You can also purchase flexible wire sleeve from Aircraft Spruce. Use heat shrink at each end to keep it from fraying.

    Auto pilot certification?

Same mounts but servos and wiring are different (see posts above).

Dynon Announces First Twin-Engine Aircraft Approval for SkyView HDX - Including Autopilot - for Piper Seneca

Correct. My point was that it is already a product, is visible in the panel pic Dynon posted (but not yet used for auto-trim) and cost is relatively small.

Dynon Announces First Twin-Engine Aircraft Approval for SkyView HDX - Including Autopilot - for Piper Seneca

Auto-Trim is part of the AP button panel functionality, which is around $500-600 plus installation. You can see it below the 7" screen in the panel pic above. I have it in my RV-7A and it works great.

    Screen failure + Transponder failure...

Both screens in my RV-7A are tied to the transponder via serial connections. Something about the RSOD screen seems to inhibit serial communication. As I said, it works fine if the bad screen can be shutdown and you'll see the error go away if/when the screen reboots and before it goes back to...

    Screen failure + Transponder failure...

When one screen does the RSOD, you will get transponder fail. Many have reported the same, as did I. If the screen eventually boots up, the transponder failure goes away (as soon as it starts to boot). Otherwise, you have to try to keep it from booting at all. Current SV screen repair flat rate...

Switching Com from IFD540 to Dynon Com Panel/ GPS Map Question

    1. You'll need a switch in the panel to select the radio you want to transmit on. 2. Sounds like the internal battery needs to be replaced in the 540.

    Screen failure + Transponder failure...

My repair invoice did not state what the root cause of the problem was or what was done to repair it. Would be nice to know...

    WiFi Issues

It is also part of the network that allows two screens to share data. Without it, you have to update each screen individually each month for the FAA updates. Like I said, might be unrelated to your issue but easy enough to try.

    WiFi Issues

I'm not sure the CAT-5 cable between the screens is involved but you might try swapping it for another one.

New feature request: Degrees to turn towards waypoint

BTW is always adjusting to show the compass direction to that location. All you need to do is turn the heading/track knob to match that number and you'll be heading directly there.

    Panel Alterations - Field Approvals?

That's the story with most, if not all, FSDOs, these days. If not structural, as in your case, I (as an A&P) don't think it would be a major repair, but I agree, there is a lot of gray area. There is a FAA document available that better describes what they consider major. Mike Busch mentioned it...

    Panel Alterations - Field Approvals?

The regs say it is up to the A&P to determine if something is a major or minor alteration. Check with him/her first.

    Cessna 180 Dynon Install

Dual Skyview screens in my bird and I always have FF running on my iPhone. I always load the flight plan from FF, unless going direct. FF also tells you WHERE traffic is located (over Bluetooth) while the Skyview just says "Traffic."

    Audio alerts problem

I have both screens in my system connected to the same input of the Dynon intercom, per the install manual. @lancair360, sounds like you know what needs to be done.

    Audio alerts problem

I agree with @preid. Sounds like one screen is not connected to the audio panel.
