    Caution Backup Battery

Yes, please define "can't get it to take". If the backup battery is not fully charged it will not allow you to start the test. The battery charges through SkyView, and needs full system voltage applied to the Skyview (greater than 12.25 volts) before the backup battery will begin to charge. You...

    Caution Backup Battery

I believe you will need to repeat the backup battery test to remove that alert.

    Procedure Turn Not Displaying

Same experience here with the procedure turns, using both the Garmin 430W and the Avidyne 440. The procedure turn is shown on the map of the navigator if you zoom in to that level, but does not display on the Dynon. The rest of the flight plan displays on the Dynon just fine, but apparently the...

    ADS-B PARTIAL

You are using the 470, not the 472, correct? I'm not sure you'll have the same upgrade path available for the firmware on the 470, which was discontinued many years ago and replaced with the 472.

    Green Arrow

That's getting into the arena of an instrument approach, giving guidance all the way to the runway. Unlikely you'll get that from Dynon.

Yep, for VFR only work, there are other options.

    Dynon Nav Data Update

Actually if you use Seattle Avionics database manager to update your charts on the USB sticks, it does now include the latest obstacle database from Dynon. That's a relatively recent change, maybe the last year.

    K Factor on Fuel Flow

Agreed - I typically fill within .1 to .2 of what the fuel computer thinks I will need.

What is the better IFR navigator to interface with Dynon HDX?

Garmin is shuttering their 430/530 line. I replaced my 430W with Avidyne IFD440 a few years ago and absolutely love it - the user interface with Avidyne is so much better than Garmin. Any of them will interface with the ARINC-429 device to feed nav data to the Dynon - but you really want to...

    ARINC-429 Offline

You've replaced the ARINC itself, and the data cables in/out - what about the power and ground? Verify those are good, including any breaker/switch the power is coming from.

    K Factor on Fuel Flow

I was thinking (memory) that the default was 68000 for the K-factor. Either one will get you in the ballpark and let you adjust from there. Now fill the tanks completely full and go fly. The longer the better, burn as much fuel out of the tanks as you are comfortable with, landing near empty...

    K Factor on Fuel Flow

If the K-factor was working and accurate before, it will still be. The K-factor is an adjustment to how the device measures fuel flow, if you get it accurate at a lower fuel flow (150hp) it will still be accurate at a higher fuel flow (180hp).
