    SV-ap-panel trim controller

Is there any issue with using the 2nd trim controller circuit to control my flap motor? My flap switch is on the stick, and using the ap-panel trim controller makes the switch wiring slightly simpler and allows a co-pilot to also to have flap control. The only thing I can think of is the 5...

    Foreflight connection ?

It can be slow just using the defaults, but with the proper profile definition, you can do quite well. My custom firmware BTLE adapter and IOS app has no trouble keeping up with the Dynon serial port streaming the ADAHRS+EMS formats at 9600 baud with no data loss. Can't do 19200 though. The key...

    Foreflight connection ?

Actually, this hasn't been true since IOS 6. The easy way is to support Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy, no MFi program needed. Also supported by Android. You decide what you communicate over BT-LE. I've built my own Dynon-serial-port to BT-LE adapter and am using it with custom IOS apps I've built. It...

    Problem with new terrain database

Dynon, My situation was the same as mmarien's - loading the reg-02 hires terrain, and pocket Fms aviation and obstacle databases. Without the pfms obstacle db, the load files screen shows 4072 kbytes free. The obstacle db is 3088 kbytes, but can't be loaded. If I do like mmarien's, and delete...

displaying COM station identifier at top of screen

It works for me with a Garmin SL30 radio, I get both frequency and identifier, for both active and standby channels. The identifier comes from lookup in the Skyview aviation database, and I think current GPS position is used, because it can distinguish amongst the many airports using a common...

    Problem with new terrain database

I tried again, and it froze again at 99% completion. On a hunch, I deleted all the databases and started with the hi res terrain first. Success! Then loaded the other base map and terrain databases without issue. Then loaded the PFMS obstacle database, no problem. When I got to reloading the...

    Problem with new terrain database

I had the same problem; followed the same procedure as you, it took so long to load that I left for a couple of hours when it was at 55%. When I came back it was at 99%, I waited and watched it for another 15 minutes and nothing happened. So I rebooted, no hi res database listed. Main battery...

User waypoint editor is messed up

In sv11.0, the user waypoint editor is messed up. The names are truncated, the icon is displayed overtop the name, not all waypoints are displayed, and selecting a waypoint to edit brings up the wrong waypoint. See attached pics....

SkyView 11.0 - Error : Map fonctions unavailable

I believe it's mentioned in the release notes that this is expected and a result of the new faster startup. The map databases were previously loaded while the boot screen was still displayed, but now the PFD/EMS/Map screens are available quicker, but the map database is still loading.

    ARINC OBS/CRS input to GNS480

Thanks for looking into this. I only just installed the 480 in this plane around time the SV 10 software came out. I don't think it's a broken wire, as baro setting is correctly received by 480(verified on 480 sys cnfg page). I have the 480 Arinc input set to EFIS, output1 set to gama429...

    ARINC OBS/CRS input to GNS480

I have 2 issues with using my GNS480 with Skyview - trying to understand if it's an expected limitation or misunderstanding on my part. The 480 is connected via the ARINC interface only; I love the integration provided with the 10.1 software update. 1) when I try to use the 480 OBS mode, I get...

The New SkyView - Featuring SkyView Touch

It's really hard to understand Nav Canada's position on this. They are a private non-profit corporation with sole ownership and operation of our civil air nav system. But their 2013 revenues exceeded $1.2B. Frustrating!

The New SkyView - Featuring SkyView Touch

As someone who has been renewing my IFR rating in my plane, the new AP button module looks like godsend. There's just way too many button pushes required on the D1000 during transition from GPS to ILS approach and missed. 2 questions though: Not quite sure I understand this. Does this mean...

    Skyview dimming output

Thanks, I can work with that. I'm adding some EL backlit labeling with a PWM-to-voltage convertor.

Not getting GPS fix to my ELT

I have the same setup and it works for me. If your test LED blinks, that's confirmation its connected correctly according to the ACK manual. (If you disable serial port 1, does the LED stop blinking?)

    Skyview dimming output

The SV Rev P install manual says external dim output (26) is currently not supported. The SV Intercom install manual says to connect it's dimming input to one screen's pin 26. Which is correct? Does dimming work? If so, is there a spec on the PWM output frequency? (It would be useful elsewhere...

    Val Nav 2KR

I also have been looking at this. I got stuck when I realized that Dynon pushes NAV frequencies to the standby position in the SL30, assume this would be so with the NAV 2KR. I can't figure out how this would get swapped to become the active frequency.

    Auto Pilot failure

I've seen something similar a couple of times since upgrading to SV 6.2. On power up, I'll get a servo failure message on one or both servos. Cycling the circuit breaker that the servos are connected to always fixes it. I assumed it was a power up glitch -- hasn't happened in the middle of a...

Sv 6.0 and SL30 data exchange problem

Can someone who has their SL30 working correctly with SV6 please post their SL30 radio software versions? Press the SYS button, rotate knob to System Info page, press ENT. Rotate knob to show versions. Mine are (this firmware doesn't work completely with SV6) I need to know whether it's my...

Sv 6.0 and SL30 data exchange problem

And I'm not sure this is related, but for me, the HSI NAV info box display is different than shown in the pilot user guide (e.g. fig 30). When I tune a VOR via the radio, I see the nav frequency displayed in green for a few secs in the HSI info box, then when the morse is decoded, the frequency...
