Push to Talk causes fuel flow to drop

I'm looking at a Glassair which has interesting problems. Transmit on Com#1, the EGT's all rise about 50 degrees, release the PTT and they go back to normal. Transmit on Com#2, the altitude drops about 40 ft, release the transmit and it goes back to normal. The builder used the old RG-58 coax...

Altitude with Aerocruze 100 / TruTrak when driven by the HDX

There is a configuration setting in the Aerocruze for the type of EFIS it is connected to. From the config documents I have, the Aspen is PMAEFIS Type 1, and the Garmin G5 is PMAEFIS Type 2 I'm wondering what the Dynon is. I don't have an updated config matrix for the Aerocruze. Might be worth...

Altitude with Aerocruze 100 / TruTrak when driven by the HDX

OK, so it is SVS (sync vertical speed) Have you tried putting in ALT mode by pressing the ALT button on the Aerocruze? It should then allow you to select the altitude by using the alt knob on the Dynon knob panel. I haven't played with an Aerocruze hooked up to a Dynon, but I have installed a...

Altitude with Aerocruze 100 / TruTrak when driven by the HDX

When it is synched to Skyview, does changing your altitude bug on the SkyView change the altitude selected displayed on the Aerocruze?

    XPNDR ERROR

I just had this on a customers Dynon transponder. It's not the power in to the transponder, it's the power out (Transmit power) I replaced the coax and the antenna to test, but it ended up being the transponder itself, which Dynon replaced under warranty.' You can upload the log files to Dynon...

    Mag troubleshooting using EMS module

On a Continental engine, cylinders 2,4 and 6 are on the left hand side (as viewed from the cockpit). 1,3 and 5 are on the right. Left mag runs the upper plugs on the left cylinders, and the lower plugs on the right Right mag runs upper plugs on the right and lower plugs on the left. A mag...

    Dynon AOA Probe leak check

But it shouldn't surely bleed off 100kts to zero in a second or two, as is happening here?

    Dynon AOA Probe leak check

No, if you have the AoA port and the vents covered, it should not leak. Pitot leaks are pretty easy to find. Drop the probe out of its mast still connected to the pitot tube. Give it some pressure and squirt some soapy water around the probe. The bubbles forming will show you where the leak is.

    Carb temp inaccurate

Did you install the Dynon carb temp sensor P/N 100468-000, or are you reusing the original sensor?

    AUDIO ALERT WIRING

This is a pretty fascinating defect! I will be following to see what you find here. AoA is serial data from the ADAHRS unit. Maybe try a Zero pressure IAS/AoA calibration as a start. This won't affect your AoA calibration data and is very easy. Pitot heats only connection to the SkyView is a...

Connecting Rotax Voltage Regulator Warn Light

Yes, there is quite possible a couple of versions. If OP could provide a part number of the regulator he has, we could pin it down pretty easily

Connecting Rotax Voltage Regulator Warn Light

Looks like L drops a ground when the alternator stops output. C is powered when the alternator switch is on. Never had much to do with the Rotax, but the VR looks the same as what was on my Ducati SD900 before I stupidly sold it.

    Level feature pitching up

If you are in simplified mode, then just press the "TRK+ALT" button. This will maintain your current track, and hold the altitude you are at. If you are in expert mode, then press "AP" and then "HDG" or "TRK", and "ALT HOLD" If you are new to the autopilot, I would suggest you put it in...

    Keying mic affecting cht’s

I had this on a customers Glassair. When he keyed VHF, all the EGT's went up a hundred or so degrees. He would also lose satellites on his GNS430W The VHF 1 and 2 antenna coaxes had been routed inside wiring looms behind the panel and down through the centre. Also, the builder had used RG-58...
